I'm Siân O'Brien, a Birmingham based Editor and Post Production Assistant, looking for roles in the Midlands region and Remote working roles. I am an experienced Edit Assistant and Corporate Editor, having served as Senior Edit Assistant for World Media Rights, before turning freelance in 2017 delivering DIT, wrangling and Assistant Editor services.
Then, in 2018, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I wasn't about to stop fighting for my career, so I pivoted to Corporate Editing. I could fit this around my Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy schedules. I have edited Corporate Communications through agencies such as DRPG, Vermillion Films and ITG, for clients such as Amazon, BT and Lloyds Bank. This work including cutting social media content, event media and training materials. I was very proud to work through my Cancer treatment, and then further through the pandemic, working on Health & Safety training videos and with local schools on educational content.
I am now transitioning back into TV, with technical roles, with a view to Editing Television in the future. Most recently, I completed a remote contract as Ingest Assistant with Workerbee for NBC's 'Hot Wheels' and Channel 4's 'Love Match'.
In the future, I would like to move into Editing for Television - preferably in Comedy or Children's Television - but for now, I am happy assisting and would love to hear about roles, either remote or in the Midlands area.
