The Edit post production facility is hiring!

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Edit Assistant to join our brilliant, hard-working team.

The Edit is Brighton’s largest and longest established post-production facility. We specialise in post-production for premium film, television and online projects and are passionate about delivering outstanding results and providing friendly, top-class services to our clients.

Tenure: Initial 6 month contract with opportunity to extend

Location: Central Brighton

The successful candidate will already be working at a high technical level in a shared Avid environment. They will be highly experienced in QC, legal blurring, conform and media management and will play a pivotal role in our post-production workflow. An ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines is essential.

The role will require working to flexible daytime shift patterns at our facility in Brighton.

Accountabilities:

  • To work with the Technical Director and Post Producers, handling complex workflows for projects
  • Overseeing and organising the flow of media through the facility from ingest to delivery, including Nexis, nearline, and LTO management
  • Providing fast and friendly technical support to in-house and remote clients
  • Executing and overseeing QC and delivery of broadcast/cinema deliverables and ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met
  • Conforming, blurring, grouping/syncing
  • Preparing grading assets for a colour-managed grading workflow
  • Technical assistance to final post departments, ensuring smooth flow of assets through final post, QC fixes.

Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Nexis Storage
  • Animation/blurring experience in both Mocha and Avid environments
  • Knowledge of colour managed workflows
  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve/Baselight
  • Ideally at least four years experience in a post production environment
  • Good IT skills.
