A Bit About The Role

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to undertake a range of application development tasks including: implementing new functionality; fixing faults and re-factoring. The developer will be required to write good object-oriented code from functional specifications and use cases using C++ and C#.

 

The primary responsibility for the Junior Software Developer is to accurately code and test effective programs from detailed system requirements and problem descriptions provided by others.

 

  • To undertake a range of application development tasks including; implementing new functionality, fixing faults and re factoring.
  • To write good object oriented code from functional specifications and use cases using C# and C++.
  • Develop cross-functional and / or multi-platform projects
  • Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical requirements
  • To ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required

About You

You will have the personal qualities to learn from colleagues and work alongside them in a co-operative and supportive way. Accepting accountability for areas under your control and have a pro-active approach to recognising problems and finding solutions is desirable as well as a sound appreciate of the value of effective communications.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in an engineering role
  • GCSE English and Maths (C or above).
  • Experience with C++, C# or SQL.
  • Familiar with agile methodologies and software development lifecycle
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Eager to learn new skills and acquire knowledge.
  • Shows initiative and is pro-active
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and self-motivation skillset.
