Job Description

Do you have experience in IT networking and would love the opportunity to break into the Broadcast technology industry?

Working in a small team, the Broadcast IT Engineer will allow you the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of IT and Broadcast technology projects.

You will provide a high level of engineering and operational support for Globelynx’s broadcast systems, associated hardware and software that facilitate the effective delivery of video streaming services to clients and broadcast partners.

The successful candidate is likely to have previous experience in IT networking, which is at the core of Globelynx’s services.

What you’ll be doing …

  • Diagnose faults and take actions to rectify problems quickly and independently on broadcast and network systems.
  • Managing delivery of network connections to client sites (New lines, MPLS circuits etc)
  • Support of client sites, broadcast infrastructure and network connectivity
  • Work collaboratively across departments 
  • Create a good working relationship with clients and partners to assist them in service delivery
  • Carry out system upgrades, such as scheduled after-hours firmware upgrades to critical equipment
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services

Are you …? 

  • Curious and keen to learn new skills and to keep pace with advances in technology?
  • Keen to develop your career in the fast-paced Broadcast Media industry?
  • Confident in communicating on a competent technical level with manufacturers and system integrators?
  • Able to make independent decisions?

Do you have …? 

  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work well and collaborate within a small team?
  • An understanding of IT Networks, LANs/WANs, VPNs and internet connectivity?

It would also be useful to have …

  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • An understanding of AV technology – cameras, sound, and vision systems
  • Knowledge of video encoding and streaming technology  
  • Knowledge of cloud (AWS) and virtualization (VMWare) technology
  • Ability to write concisely as part of communication internally and to relay information to clients
  • Previous video broadcast experience
