Job Overview 

We are seeking a Digital Design Director to lead our Digital Campaigns Design Team. You’ll be a outstanding digital designer, someone who can deliver award winning design and lead by example across our digital advertising landscape.


You’ll work on Sky’s most important advertising projects to push our idea-led digital design output, creating simple, impactful and disruptive digital design.  

You embrace the challenges of small and dynamic formats, live and breath thumb stopping social design and will have your finger on the pulse of digital opportunities to lead our marketing comms into the future.   

You will play a crucial part in assisting the Creative Director of Advertising drive the vision of the team and build a world class digital campaigns team for the future. 

You will work closely with the Creative Director of digital trade marketing to drive our biggest consumer engagement moments; from Start of the Premier League Season, to iPhone launches, Black Friday to F1.  

You will take a lead role over projects and drive the craft and standards on tools where you can have the most impact, working from concept through to delivery, driving the vision and craft of the work and delivering high quality results. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Set the creative vision and direction for digital design initiatives, ensuring they align with the agency's goals and customer needs.  

  • Lead the design team in creating ground-breaking digital content that sets industry standards. Embrace opportunities to be on the tools and showcase your experience.  

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of talented designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and tools needed to excel in digital and social media design. 

  • Live and breathe dynamic content optimization, utilizing data-driven insights to tailor designs for various audience segments. 

  • Stay at the forefront of social media trends and digital design innovations. Apply this expertise to create visually stunning and strategically effective designs that resonate with target audiences and enhance brand visibility. 

  • Work closely with clients to understand their branding and marketing goals. Translate these objectives into compelling digital design strategies and deliverables that exceed expectations. 

  • Oversee multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 

  • Establish and maintain high standards for digital design. Regularly review and critique work, providing constructive feedback to the team and implementing improvements as necessary. 

  • Work cross-functionally with other departments such as marketing, content, and technology teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to digital campaigns. 

  • Encourage a culture of experimentation and innovation within the team. Explore new tools, technologies, and design methodologies to keep the agency at the cutting edge of digital advertising. 


Candidate Specification 

  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a wide range of digital design work, including examples of successful team-led projects. 

  • A proven track record of leading digital design projects and teams. Experience in an creative agency or similar is required. 

  • Advanced skills in digital design tools Creative Suite, Sketch, and Figma. 

  • Extensive experience with social media platform specifications, trends, and best practices for design. 

  • Deep understanding of Dynamic Content Optimization and experience using data and analytics to inform design decisions. 

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. 

  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead a team of designers in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for the digital design department. 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • A passion for innovation and a drive to explore new design technologies and trends. 

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to overcoming challenges. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and strategies to teams and clients. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing trends and client needs, maintaining a flexible and forward-thinking approach. 



  • Reports to the Creative Director of Advertising Design.
