As the Head of Finance, Order to Cash (“O2C”), you will be a key part of the Shared Service Centre Leadership team, working with the Finance Director of Shared Services to deliver both the operational and strategic objectives of Global Finance Operations. Responsible for overseeing the billing and collection of ~£4.5bn business to business revenues per annum, you will provide support and guidance to our onshore operational team and liaise closely with our offshore service partners and GPO teams to provide effective leadership of the O2C function. Working closely with our UK&I treasury partners you’ll oversee the daily monitoring and 13-weekly forecasting of ~£13bn cash movements across the UK&I business and providing monthly cash flow reporting.
This is a key role liaising with onshore and offshore teams and senior stakeholders across multiple markets to ensure the efficient operation of the O2C function at Sky.
People Management
Lead and bring together as part wider alignment projects a team of c25 finance professionals, setting key objectives and priorities as well as providing strategic and operational direction.
Manage the key stakeholder relationship with the O2C tower lead in our offshore partner comprising a team of ~75 colleagues.
Contribute to wider Finance Delivery people agenda to drive increased engagement of our people.
Ensure our Sky Values are embedded within the team, inclusive of equal opportunities and our diversity agenda, modelling sky behaviours on a daily basis.
Actively encourage direct reports, provide one to one coaching and mentoring to stretch and develop individuals across the team.
Financial Leadership
Working in conjunction with our offshore partners, lead our Billing and Collections activities for Sky’s B2B operations, maintain relevant world class metrics across each area.
Lead our Cash Operations and Bank Account Management team at Sky, being responsible for (but not limited to), cash allocation, bank reconciliations, bank account management and cash forecasting.
Be responsible for all month end reporting associated with O2C, including review of balance sheet submissions, reconciling items reports, statutory cash reporting & associated notes.
Review and drive weekly productivity and performance target achievement across the various functions within O2C.
Be accountable for maintaining a strong, robust, and well-designed control environment as well as being a key point of contact for both internal and external audit assignments covering O2C activities.
Stakeholder Management & Continuous improvement
Work closely with the GPO design team to share O2C SME and offer ideas for future design, and improvement, challenging the status quo to increase efficiencies and control, moving toward automation and standardisation both across Sky and the wider Comcast group and to unlock capacity creation and efficiency.
Work with key business partners to identify additional opportunities to add to the scope of work carried out by both the Shared Service Centre and our offshore partners, delivering efficient and effective transition of tasks.
Liaising with a wide network of stakeholders, ensuring that they are provided with relevant, timely and accurate information which informs and directs business decisions.
Carry out ad-hoc activities as and when required by the business.
Be able to deputise for the Finance Director, Shared Services when appropriate.
What you’ll bring:
An organised and methodical individual, possessing attention to detail whilst working under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your style dependent on the situation.
Excellent stakeholder management with experience of engaging with and presenting to all levels of stakeholders and building strong, sustainable relationships.
An understanding of both indirect and direct cash flow preparation
Proven record of delivery, particularly of sharing insight and adding value to stakeholders.
A self-starter attitude, relying less on direction and more on personal initiative.
A flexible approach, willing to undertake to occasional travel to meet with key internal stakeholders.
Experience of managing/leading projects in a large organisation, with cross functional inputs
Strong IT skills, particularly using Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable
Experience working within a Shared Service environment is desirable, particularly within a O2C environment with exposure to cross border pooling arrangements and international markets.
CCAB Qualified
Knowledge of ERP, ideally SAP
