RTÉ is Ireland's national public service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally. Since its inception, RTÉ has functioned in a highly competitive environment, where technology has been developing exponentially. 

RTÉ Technology are seeking to hire a Senior Full-Stack C# .NETSoftware Developer to join our  Product Development and Software Engineering team, building some of the most high-profile online products in Ireland, used by millions of people every week; including RTÉ.ie, RTÉ Player, and the RTÉ News app.

This is a critical role within the development team and the day-to-day duties are essential to ensuring RTÉ’s content is published and available in a timely and reliable manner across a suite of online products and services that hundreds of thousands of people use every day.

Working with a wide range of colleagues in both technical and non-technical roles, the candidate must be a clear, calm and consistent communicator, and should be ready and comfortable being the person who solves problems - sometimes in situations where there is lots of pressure, and little time.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Working as part of a small team developing large scale content management systems, backend applications and APIs
  • Developing application user interfaces using HTML, Javascript and CSS
  • Supporting the operations of critical online systems
  • As part of the wider team, working to develop and improve system robustness, architecture and quality
  • Substantial years in a senior position as a C# .NET Software developer.
  • Knowledge and experience with C#, .NET 6.0. ASP.NET Core
  • SQL Server, T-SQL.
  • Javascript and CSS
  • Working knowledge of log management and monitoring systems
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, fluid environment while ensuring the uptime and availability of services
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and support a broad range of systems
  • Ability to configure, upgrade, install and troubleshoot server hardware and software
Knowledge of following technologies an advantage:
  • Cloud services in general, Azure and AWS
  • Azure Service Bus, Azure Devops and Azure Cosmos DB
  • Typescript
  • Powershell
  • Jetbrains Rider

This appointment will be made on a permanent full-time contract basis at a salary range from €71,532 to €100,334 gross per annum.

This role requires primarily business hours, however, there is a requirement to fulfill planned infrastructure systems maintenance, upgrades etc. outside of normal business hours.  A flexible and collaborative approach to work is therefore essential.
