DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Indie Growth Fund team is responsible for the management of an investment fund which invests in small and medium sized independent TV & digital production companies based in the UK. The role will also support another department within C4, providing PA and additional admin support.
JOB PURPOSE The Team Coordinator will provide support to the Growth Fund team at C4, currently consisting of the Head of Fund and 2 Senior Portfolio Managers. The role combines administrative aspects (including PA duties for the team), event management and some research (covering potential investees, key industry personnel, industry trends etc.) The role will also be expected to provide PA duties for the senior management in another C4 department and additional team admin support.
It is essential to have an understanding of, and an interest in, the independent production sector and to be confident with multiple diary management for a busy team.
This role will suit a person, passionate about TV, who is looking to expand from a PA / Team Assistant role to take on additional responsibility and to utilise their research skills.
Manage the day to day coordination aspects of the Indie Growth Fund, providing support to a small team and build strong relationships throughout C4 and the indie production sector.
PA duties for the Indie Growth Fund team and another team within C4, including arranging recurring board meetings with investee companies, internal meetings with all levels of senior management, external meetings with potential investee companies, travel, dealing with expenses and responsibility for holiday and sickness absences.
Manage complicated diaries; occasionally required to move and/or reorganise meetings based on their urgency and significance.
Manage and respond to enquiries from potential investees, and ensure effective and appropriate screening of opportunities.
Actively seek targets within the market place and highlight these to the team as potential opportunities.
Manage a database of companies and status of discussions.
Perform research on companies and individuals, provide recommendations and conclusions to the team.
Generate documents, preparing slides and circulate board packs, agendas and other internal reporting.
Event management of various events through the year including ad hoc briefing sessions for our investees and Christmas. party for 100+ guests and internal team events and away days.
Work on ad-hoc projects as directed by the team.
Work closely with PA’s and Executive Assistants, both internal and external to help understand their needs and support. them where possible
Build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally.
Proactively manage own workload by prioritising accordingly and reporting back on completion.
Willing to travel.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Prior comprehensive diary management experience
Strong interest in broadcast television, particularly the indie production sector.
Ability to perform basic assessments of prospective investments, considering a variety of factors and present succinct conclusions.
Proficient to intermediate level for Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner.
Excellent attention to detail, ability to check and proof-read own work.
Confident in managing several projects simultaneously, prioritising where necessary.
Comfortable working within the TV creative community, dealing with senior management and multiple stakeholders.
Proven ability to rapidly develop close relationships with key contacts.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated team player.
Enjoys working in a busy environment and working on several tasks at once.
Possesses a keen attitude and a willingness to learn.
