Reporting directly to the Head of Measurement Science, the Associate Director, Publisher & Platforms position will lead the operations of a publisher and platform channel sales business in close partnership with both the Sales, Product Management, Finance, and operational teams. Assuming a customer empathy lens, the Associate Director will own the measurement process for the vertical from client ideation to implementation, understanding our customer’s unique needs and challenges, recognizing the value of inclusiveness by seeking diverse perspectives throughout the process. The ideal candidate relies on their emotional intelligence, persuasiveness, and operational excellence to swiftly meet the needs of thousands of internal and external customers who depend on Samba TV's proprietary viewership insights that enable them to make business decisions. This role will be responsible for a team focused on reporting and performance evaluation of advertiser campaigns, in addition to contributing towards greater ad sales research initiatives for Samba. 



  • Oversee a 3-5 person client delivery team, providing leadership oversight and mentoring to team of analytics professionals while focused on setting up and delivering world class ad effectiveness measurement and building process building/workflow documentation
  • Lead client engagements at the most senior level, routinely engaging with C-Suite executives at publishers, brands, agencies and ad tech platforms
  • Partner with GTM teams and marketing to properly position Samba measurement capabilities and support Head of Measurement initiatives
  • Help drive strategy around, cross platform, attribution, and other forms of innovative measurement
  • Actively evangelize Samba data and measurement capabilities in client engagements, marketing efforts and at industry events as well as visionary leadership around the use of Samba TV’s measurement
  • Support development of narratives for findings; drafting of proposals and statements of work for new opportunities with existing clients
  • Be an expert on Audience and Outcome Measurement methodologies and industry standards, both inside and outside of Samba
  • Proven track record and comfortability in a client facing role, a deep understanding of the advanced TV and video ecosystems, along with an expertise in audience based buying
  • Work in Deep partnership with Data Science and Product teams alongside Head of Measurement to create better measurement products that advance the industry   
  • Lead meta-analysis and large bespoke measurement engagements
  • Balance changing priorities and execution of multiple research studies at once and manage deliverables and timelines
  • Possess a willingness to support team members and dive into a player-coach role as needed to maintain delivery schedules and hit delivery goals
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement and execute studies
  • Educate internal and external teams on the benefits and capabilities of Sambas suite of measurement products



  • BA/BS or MS in related technical field or equivalent practical experience 
  • 4+ years in ad effectiveness, audience measurement, and guiding client actions based on data 
  • 2+ years of experience leading research delivery team
  • Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs, and to represent technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations and industry events
  • Ability to develop keen client insight and actionable recommendations based on research, data, and industry trends
  • Cross-functional solid leadership; ability to excite, influence and align other teams to achieve goals
  • Experience with both outcomes and audiences measurement capabilities
  • Experience in the TV, Media, Entertainment, or digital advertising spaces
  • Understanding of identity resolution and programmatic advertising
  • Comfortable with SQL, R/Python or similar data tools
  • Proficiency working within Salesforce, Jira, Asana, or other CRM and/or project management tools

  • Knowledgeable across multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, UI, sales, customer success, finance, and marketing
  • Experience with sophisticated statistical models and advanced measurement methodologies
  • Deep knowledge of one or more client verticals
  • Knowledge of Nielsen, Rentrak, and Kantar Insights
