About The Role

Compositors at Metaphysic work closely with Compositing Leads and AI Artists to deliver all compositing aspects of their assigned shots. As part of this role you will be collaborating heavily with our AI teams to generate the best results and integrate them seamlessly to produce hyperreal results. This creative collaboration and innovation is core to Metaphysics' overarching goal of creating the most advanced synthetic media available. A thorough understanding of the synthetic media landscape and machine learning concepts in general is important, as is a great eye for facial likeness and articulation.

Responsibilities

• Together with the Compositing Supervisors and leads, work on creative and technical challenges to tackle assigned shots.
• Perform all tasks associated with the compositing process, including: AI faceswap integration, CG integration, colour grading, 2D tracking, blue/green screen matte extraction, layering of elements.
• Maintain the overall look, colour balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences to create consistency in all finished work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with artists from other departments.

Skills

• Previous experience in the VFX industry working on high-end features
• Strong knowledge of Nuke
• Strong aesthetic skills in judging photo-realism and colour
• Strong sense of composition, colour and design
• Drive to push boundaries in the AI space for VFX 
• A background in paint and roto is a plus
• Ability to work in a team, strong communicator and proactive mindset
• Ability to write Nuke scripts and/or plugins is a plus
• Python and/or C++ experience a plus
• Familiarity with using Unix systems
