Job Description:

We are seeking a VFX Pipeline Architect to spearhead the design and development of a cutting-edge VFX pipeline, tailored for the AI era. This role calls for an innovative approach to create a system that is both modular and scalable, capable of expanding both horizontally and vertically to meet the dynamic needs of modern visual effects production.

Responsibilities:

• Design and help implement a modern VFX pipeline, ensuring it is highly modular, scalable, and tailored for advanced AI-driven processes.
• Oversee the entire pipeline lifecycle from asset management, workflow automation, software version control, to render management.
• Design a high level plan from ingestion to delivery, encompassing both 2D, 3D and AI workflows.
• Integrate modern software practices and technologies, moving away from legacy systems and ensuring minimal legacy code maintenance.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify needs and adapt the pipeline to support new technologies and workflows efficiently.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends in VFX, AI technologies, and software development practices to continually enhance the pipeline.
• Attend Pipeline meetings as required
• Assist in the development and deployment of pipeline tools
• Ensure the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Qualifications:

• Analytical mind
• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or VFX required
• Minimum 5 years experience within VFX
• Software Development Skills:
  • Ability to design and implement systems
  • Procedural and object-oriented programming expertise
  • Production level understanding of modular, large-scale digital asset management and version control
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard asset management and review tools
  • In-depth understanding of colour management principles and colour-critical review processes. Experience with colour pipelines using ACES/OCIO
  • Knowledge of Production Technology/IT/IS methods, practices, and trends
  • User interface design and standard UI toolkits
• Bonus: 
  • Pipeline experience for at least one these discipline groups: Modelling, UV, Texturing, Shaders, LookDev, Lighting, Rendering, Compositing
  • Third Party pipeline integration and plugin development for: Nuke, Houdini, Unreal Engine
