The Role:

Join the Metaphysic team and become a crucial part of our infrastructure crew, shaping and supporting cutting-edge automation experiences, self-service solutions, and top-tier enterprise computing that lies at the heart of everything we do. We're on the lookout for a DevOps engineer extraordinaire – someone who's not just highly motivated but ready to deploy, own solutions, and collaborate closely with our Head of Infrastructure, project managers, and other creative minds.

Your Mission:

• Dive deep into implementing new tools, optimizations, and automation that make Metaphysic stand out.
• Be the bridge between stakeholders, connecting developers, management, and artists.
• Ensure our systems are compliant and airtight against cybersecurity threats.
• Get creative with ways to automate and elevate our development and release processes.
• Test, examine, and analyze code written by others to keep our codebase top-notch.
• Embrace transparency – document, peer at code, and collaborate with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify and solve technical problems, using your automation superpowers to develop software updates and fixes.
• Work hand-in-hand with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established internal processes.
• Design architectures, create diagrams, and truly "own" the solutions you put in place.
• Prove proposed solutions in test environments before they hit prime time.
• Deploy updates and fixes, providing the technical support our teams need.
• Build automation code that reduces errors and enhances the customer experience.
• Seamlessly integrate with both internal (on-prem) and cloud systems.
• Dive deep into root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.
• Document procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance, making life easier for our Level 1 technical resources.
• Provide support as needed because teamwork makes the dream work.
• Collaborate efficiently with SRE to ensure our delivery quality is world-class.

Must-Haves:

• Previous experience as a DevOps/SRE engineer or a similar software engineering role.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub workflows (including Github actions, Gitlab CI/CD).
• Ansible is your superhero tool, especially on-prem.
• A solid grasp of CI/CD pipelining.
• Working knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL solutions.
• Proven track record delivering Linux solutions (RH and Debian-based like Ubuntu).
• Experience with Podman would be a bonus :)
