Job Description:

About the Role

Our IMAX Playa Vista location is an owned facility, with 24-hour critical systems. It is home to our postproduction facilities, three theatres, and about 200 staff. This role is an integral position on our Playa Vista workplace team, interacting regularly with building 3rd parties and occupants to keep the facility running smoothly for our employees and VIP guests.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and inspire the daily facility operations, expertly managing workflows to ensure continuous efficiency

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing innovative solutions to drive the company forward 

  • Resolve problems by clarifying issues, researching, and exploring answers, implementing solutions, and escalating unresolved problems 

  • Skillfully manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and maintenance to prevent interruptions 

  • Oversee building tickets and ticket systems to ensure all issues are assigned and resolved 

  • Assist with the facilities budget, including budget planning and monthly management. Process accruals, invoice/expense coding and submission for Workplace spend 

  • Manage 3rd party agreements for scope, level of service, scheduling, and rates charged

  • Review invoices prior to processing for reasonableness and consistency with terms of the agreement.

  • Inform budget preparation and management by obtaining estimates, proactively recommending services and upgrades as required 

  • Act as liaison with Engineering for all issues relating to building and equipment 

  • Develop and maintain a program of reactive and preventative maintenance

  • Manage facility inspection program to determine the need for repairs or renovations and inform strategy for future development; including daily office inspections for cleanliness and maintenance for both exterior and interior areas 

  • Address urgent issues and prioritize multiple concurrent demands calmly responding to facility related inquiries and issues raised by building occupants, anticipating requirements, and resolving issues

  • Implement energy-savings initiatives

  • Collaborate with all departments to understand their workplace needs

  • Participate in the planning and execution of various personnel moves, new hire office setups, and workplace reconfigurations

  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and create an exceptional workplace experience

  • Responds to after-hours calls

  • Assist with event set-up, including insurance requirements and scheduling. This may include weekends or after-hours if necessary

  • Ensure a secure and compliant office environment following fire and life safety regulations, and IMAX policies and procedures

  • Has a key role related to health and safety including building safety inspections, workplace safety programs such as ergonomics, fire and life safety, and emergency response

  • Day to day management of the security and badge systems

What You'll Need: 

  •  Progressive workplace/facility operations responsibility over several years 

  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as Slack, Asana, and MS Office

  • Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts 

  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices 

  • Basic working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, BAS, security, fire & life safety) in order to coordinate regular maintenance activities and ensure worry free continuous operations 

  • Basic knowledge of reading and understanding (technical/blueprint) drawings 

  • Ability to calmly take the lead in the event of a building incident or emergency response 

 

Nice to Have: 

  • OSHA 10 certification 

  • Events experience is an asset 

Compensation:

65,259.00 - 95,000.00
