The Role:

We are looking for a Creative Executive who is passionate about creating children's media and is fluent with preschool animation and storytelling to lead Season 2 of a globally distributed preschool animated series. The executive will be based in London, UK and work closely with an external animation studio based in Copenhagen.

 

The successful candidate will be a creative thinker who can juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on organization and meticulous attention to detail. They will have first-hand experience with the creative process from inception through to production of an animated scripted series for preschool. This role will be shepherding through the creative of a much beloved children's 3D Animated series, rolling out on global platforms like SKY, HBO MAX and more - with a complete creative overview of all aspects from bible, writers rooms, script notes and animation production.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Find and engage the lead writer and writing team
  • Work with external designer on developing new character designs and locations and any new design assets
  • Manage the Show Bible: updating creative changes/ tracking developments and keeping the creative team aware of developments.
  • Be creative point over all aspects, including: Loglines, Character designs, Scripts, Locations
  • Liaise with / be point of contact for internal reviews and external/client approvals; sharing and collating notes on all of the above
  • Keeping writing team, feedback/approvals, designs etc all to schedule and liaising with Moonbug producer
  • Liaising with director and moonbug creative, collating notes and feeding back to the director on animatics, all stages of animation etc.
  • Liaising with internal Moonbug brand department
  • Oversee shows from a creative production perspective wirth a close relationship with production- all the way from development to final delivery
  • Work closely with various departments (Production, Marketing, Channel Operations, Distribution) to ensure creative development is aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Review and provide notes on scripts, outlines, springboards, animatics, cuts, voice records, and all other steps in the creative process.

Requirements

 

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about animated and live-action children's entertainment: 3D Animated Scripted would be preferred, but not essential
  • Experience working across animation narrative shows in the preschool space
  • Broad network of writers, artists and agency contacts in the children’s space.
  • Strong understanding of character and story, working to brand guidelines, and a grasp of visual film-making language and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be articulate and professional both in written and verbal forms of communication, particularly when it comes to emails, story documents, and pitches.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to time-manage across multiple deadlines is a must.
  • Highly collaborative, resourceful, curious, and calm under pressure with a good sense of humor.

Education & Work Experience:

  • 6+ years experience in 3D Children's Animated Entertainment, Scripted Series and/or Studio/Production experience required
