Job Description

ITN Productions is committed to delivering exceptional content for television and streamer platforms. Our dedication to innovation and trusted storytelling has positioned us as a leader in the industry. We're known for making premium-quality programmes in both the UK and US but we're now looking to expand by creating a dedicated new role: Head of Premium. You will be a driving force in steering, developing and delivering an ambitious slate of projects, fostering creativity and cultivating strong relationships with commissioners and key industry players.A highly-experienced, visionary individual with a brilliant reputation in top-quality programme-making, award-winning commissioning... or both.

We are seeking someone to lead our newly-created Premium division, someone who can propel our portfolio and reputation forward. The ideal candidate will not only possess a proven track record in knowing what makes outstanding TV but also demonstrate a keen ability to drive a diverse slate of projects. Your role will encompass helping to generate fresh and compelling ideas and managing the development process, establishing strong connections with commissioners as well as overseeing or Exec Producing selected projects.


Key Responsibilities    
1. Slate Management:
Develop and drive a dynamic slate of premium documentary ideas, ensuring a balance of diverse and engaging content that resonates with audiences and aligns with the company's strategic objectives
Continuously assess and refine the slate to adapt to business needs, audiences and streaming platform requirements

2.  Idea Generation:
With inspiring ideas and contributions to brainstorms, help to support the culture of creativity within the team.
Collaborate with content creators, directors, and writers to brainstorm and develop original ideas that push the boundaries of storytelling

3. Market Insights:
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to strategically position ITNP in the market, ensuring we are staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving landscape

4. Commissioner Relationships:
A proven track record of strong relationships with commissioners and decision-makers at streaming platforms and broadcasting networks

5. Pitches:
Spearhead the pitching process for new documentary projects, presenting compelling narratives, and creative visions to commissioners.
Help to craft persuasive pitches that showcase our unique ideas

6. Production and delivery:
Oversee production of premium-quality programmes, ensuring we are delivering best-in-class content with brilliant, diverse teams

  • Proven success in managing and driving a slate of documentary projects, with a track record of delivering high-quality content
  • Adept at generating fresh and compelling ideas, with a keen understanding of market trends and audience preferences
  • Strong network and relationships with commissioners and decision-makers at streaming platforms, broadcasters, and production partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey creative visions and build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to align content strategies with company goals and market demands
  • Knowledge and experience of managing budgets and teams
