Job Title Junior Media Systems Engineer
Reports to Head of Technical Operations
Based Leatherhead with worldwide travel

The Collectv was established in 2014, to provide systems integration, media management and support for 
broadcast, outside broadcast and post production systems. In 2015 and 2017 we were awarded Emmys for 
Outstanding Technical Team Remote at the Olympics as part of NBC’s team. Our current experience spans the 
likes of Sky Sports’ Darts events, Dancing on Ice for ITV, Too Hot To Handle for Fremantle, Drive to Survive for Box 
to Box Films and The Apprentice for Naked. As one of only a few fully independent technical TV service

This is a trainee engineering position with operational elements, where you are required to work by yourself and 
as part of a team delivering networks of video recording servers, logging systems and edit suites to major 
production companies and broadcast clients around the world. Responsibilities include duties on-site and 
maintenance and setup duties at base.

The position involves:
• Ingesting and managing media primarily on location
• Assisting in building our systems
• Assisting in routine maintenance and regular system checks of our supported systems
• Preparing equipment for despatch including boxing up kit into flight cases and delivering equipment to 
locations we’re working at

Key Accountabilities
• Ingesting and managing media and content either on location, at our client’s premises or our base
• To assist in the preparation of equipment and planning of projects
• To assist in outside broadcast and fixed rig environments
• Logistical support including delivery and shipments
• General maintenance and identification of faults with equipment
• Selecting equipment from a given list with all associated cables and peripherals

Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong inter personal skills to communicate effectively and be part of a team
• Able to plan tasks and prioritise effectively
• Willingness to learn and develop across all aspects of outside broadcasting, post production and fixed rig 
• Drivers licence

Desirable Page 
• Some understanding of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems
• Some understanding of networking principals, (Routing, Switching, the OSI model etc.) 
• Ingest/media management experience
Due to the nature of the position there will be the necessity for travel, both abroad and locally, so in addition to 
the above, the ability to be totally flexible is a key requisite of this role.
