Job Description:

About the Role

IMAX is looking for an SFA to join our growing Inventory & Costing team, who can collaborate with team members from different departments and other IMAX entities to ensure costs are accounted for and settled correctly.  You’ll have the opportunity to participate and contribute in projects aimed at aligning and improving IMAX processes related to inventory and costing. Collaboration with IT and business teams will be essential to the role, identifying and implementing solutions to improve business processes or assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to inventory and costing. We’re looking for someone who is interested in developing expertise in inventory management and costing and become a subject matter expert in the team. You’ll be conducting various analyses using Excel, leveraging your analytical skills to provide insights to stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and analyze journal entries, update project status, post and analyze labor hours, calculate overhead, projects and internal orders settlements, and cost allocation (SAP)

  • Prepare monthly shipment summary

  • Provide timely and accurate management reports (theatre system installation cost report) to leadership

  • Prepare intercompany and balance sheet accounts reconciliation, analyze variance and troubleshoot differences

  • Prepare timely and accurate quarterly schedules and analyses to support reporting team; labor absorption analysis & allocation; other cost allocation (soft cost allocations)

  • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and procedures

  • Coordinate with external auditor to provide necessary data

  • Post daily cycle counts, review and update standard costs, post quantity adjustments, etc.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Working experience with an ERP accounting software

  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel

Nice to Have:

  • CPA/CA is an asset

  • SAP experience preferred
