The Role:

Moonbug Entertainment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director of Label Sales to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Head of Music, and managing a sales team in the US & UK, you will be instrumental to our growth strategy, and be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, fostering relationships, and driving revenue growth for Moonbug Music.

This person will work onsite at our Los Angeles location.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the team responsible for developing and executing global strategies & tentpole marketing activations that drive significant revenue for Moonbug Music.  
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets through effective planning and execution.
  • Participate in budget & forecast processes and maintain responsibility for achieving KPI’s set for the business
  • Responsible for effectiveness & efficiency of the global music distribution strategy
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior counterparts at all music & social platforms (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, TikTok etc).
  • Play an integral role in managing our partnership with Moonbug’s distributor, Universal Music Group
  • Deliver strategies to address key industry changes that could impact Moonbug’s music business
  • Work closely with Moonbug brands, marketing, and other revenue verticals to align the company’s music initiatives with broader company strategies.
  • Lead internal thought leadership and education for the label, and see to it that music initiatives and best practices are followed and executed throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with CMO, GMs, territory leads, and other internal team leads to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Continuously explore new opportunities to expand Moonbug's presence in the music industry.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including content, marketing, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of label-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Music Business, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in label sales, commercial management, or a related role within the music industry (prior Children’s Music experience a plus but not required)
  • Experience successfully managing other team members 
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with partners.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance metrics, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and dynamic work environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Salary: $140K - $225K
