IMAX Corporation is an entertainment technology company, specializing in motion-picture technologies and large-format motion-picture presentations. Leading the way in immersive theatre experiences since 1968, a culture of innovation is at the very core of IMAX. From the introduction of stadium seating, to developing the highest-resolution camera in the world, to our laser projection technology and our partnerships with the world’s best filmmakers, there is no one like IMAX. We have more than 1,700 IMAX theatres in more than 80 countries and territories around the globe. We can be found in destination entertainment centers and multiplexes as well as some of the most prestigious educational institutions worldwide. To exceed the needs of our filmmaking partners, our exhibitors and our fans, IMAX is determined to continue pushing movie technology forward. IMAX Corporation is a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IMAX). Partnering with some of Hollywood’s top filmmakers is a major part of IMAX’s mission. Our various technologies and services extend beyond our cameras and our proprietary DMR process and can be scaled to suit a variety of needs. Leading directors are increasingly asking IMAX to join the moviemaking process from the very start. For a growing number of Hollywood movies, IMAX is part of the film’s DNA. That means, oftentimes, an IMAX movie is conceived as an IMAX movie – with the filmmaker working with IMAX to decide which parts should be shot with an IMAX camera, what kinds of techniques make the most of the IMAX screen, sound and theatre, and how the drama should unfold to take advantage of IMAX’s larger format, richer color, sheer scale and impact.
