The Role

This is a temporary position to cover a key area of our North American business for approximately a 6 to

7-month period. It is a great opportunity to work for an exciting company on the fast track to becoming

an industry leader in the kids’ entertainment business. This position will manage licensing for a portion

of the the Soft Lines product categories for North America. The individual will be responsible for account

management of specific soft lines licensees and ensuring we are on track to meet & exceed revenue

targets and growth objectives. Identify prospective partners, close deals, negotiate favorable terms and

expand the business by identifying white space in the defined product categories. This position is based

in New York and will report to the Head of CP – the Americas in collaboration with the other soft lines

team members.


  • Responsible for quarterly revenue forecasting for specific soft lines categories
  • Execute against the licensing strategy for defined categories to ensure success, identifying industry trends, white space opportunities, retail segmentation opportunities and new product innovation/expansion
  • Analyze account performance and develop growth goals that are aligned with the overarching Consumer Products plans
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with licensees including contract negotiations and execution, monitoring contractual obligations, and ensuring all rights are being exploited/maximized as well as providing key information/assets to help support licensees’ business
  • Conduct regular business meetings with licensees to provide brand updates, discuss current performance, retail placement areas of improvement, and opportunities for growth
  • Partner with the Product Development team to ensure licensees are developing innovative, trend-right product that accurately represents the DNA for each specific brand
  • Research and understand competitive landscape through market and consumer trends, retailer and industry need as well as analyzing Moonbug insights to identify opportunities to expand your specific categories
  • Build relationships and collaborate with other internal teams including GM’s, brand marketing & social media teams, CP franchise, retail, international licensing, legal and finance to share information and develop business opportunities on a broader scale
  • Create materials for pitch presentations, sales meetings, and licensing summits
  • Attend trade shows when needed
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong licensing and business development background in children’s entertainment licensing, preferably in soft lines, including proven track record of success in generating and increasing revenue and long-term value
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal with the ability to sell ideas internally as well as externally
  • Strong team-player who can comfortably work with peers and colleagues in both a remote and office setting and with team members in multiple locations & time zones
  • Has a motivated and pro-active approach with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment; and can be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing business
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and can complete all projects successfully
  • Proficient in Keynote, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
