Director of Mastering and Fulfillment Operations (APAC)

The Director of Mastering and Fulfillment Operations oversees the creation and distribution of media assets for Deluxe’s home entertainment clients. This role is based in Seoul and is responsible for operations in APAC. The director will support the VP of Mastering and Fulfillment Operations based in the US and is part of a global leadership team with accountability for worldwide operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the successful performance of mastering and fulfillment operations.

  • Work with General Managers to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimations and schedules for integrating these needs into new or existing workflows.

  • Execute operational staffing strategy and roster decisions for the APAC region.

  • Mentor junior employees, lead growth and development and build high performing teams with a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

  • Analyze and monitor production metrics to identify problems and recommend solutions that will improve performance (i.e. changes to procedures, workflows or equipment).

  • Efficiently manage and motivate the team to ensure project deliveries are on time, on budget, to the agreed specification and satisfaction of clients.

  • Engage with clients, management, employees, and other departments in developing and driving an operation excellence culture.

  • Interact with clients to monitor performance and perceptions of the organization’s quality and timeliness.

  • Consult with global operations, engineering, and product teams to assist in systems innovation and implementation strategy.

  • Collaborate with leadership team to manage operational costs.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure that facilities equipment and technology meet business needs.

  • Partner with information security team to ensure that all internal and client-mandated protocols are adhered to by operations.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Ability to motivate and manage individuals to consistently perform and improve.

  • Experience setting team direction and enabling growth and evolution.

  • Experience establishing key performance indicators to drive operational improvement.

  • Familiarity working with data sets to reveal insights and inform decisions.

  • Ability to build internal relationships and execute improvements through consensus building and decisive action.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to comprehend and convey complex subjects logically.

  • Experience working with business process automation, resource planning and management systems.

  • Knowledge of the foundations of the digital media supply chain, including production, post-production, content mastering, localization, theatrical distribution, and streaming.

  • Experience with media formats and tools, 4k video, multi-channel audio, various closed captions and subtitle formats, DCP, IMF, frame sequences, TTML, product images and metadata, Dolby, Avid, Adobe.

  • Experience working with secure asset transfer, content encryption and watermarking methods.

  • Extensive understanding of file-based workflows, on-premises and cloud infrastructure, and technical requirements for processing high resolution uncompressed media.

  • Bilingual Korean / English is preferred for this role.
