Full Time, Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover)

 

Position Summary 

As part of a small in-house legal team (two lawyers, one paralegal), this role serves as a critical member of the Legal Department, providing direct support to the Director of Legal Affairs for EMEA and APAC based in the UK. The successful applicant will need to have the relevant experience and a keen interest in administration duties, general corporate, HR, and excellent communication, listening and computer skills. 

 

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Maintaining company books, , publishing meeting packs, taking minutes.

  • Further company secretarial responsibilities within the EMA and APAC region with coordinating statutory filing with local counsel. 

  • Responsibility of organising the execution of important legal agreements addressed to the company board/relevant signatories (using DocuSign & Adobe Acrobat), corresponding with third parties/external counsel to finalise agreements. Maintaining and updating the legal drive with executed agreements/business know how.  

  • Responsibility for legal post and flagging any urgent items. 

  • Liaising with external counsel in APAC and EMEA for monthly legal costs. Processing legal invoices through SAP and maintaining financial trackers. 

  • Providing template agreements from the legal drive to the relevant business unit on request. Reviewing legal documents for formatting/reference errors and resolving.  Knowledge of how to use Microsoft/Excel/Microsoft Teams is essential. 

  • Organising ICO certificates and annual renewals. 

  • Responsible for contract management and monitoring of key contract and other deadlines. 

  • Supporting the day-to-day legal requirements of the business including, compliance, risk, ops, management, and other functions. 

 

Key Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. 

  • Able to both take direction and show initiative. Be proactive and the ability to work independently. 

  • Excellent communication, analytical and critical thinking skills. 

  • Approachable and work collaboratively with Legal Department and business team members. 

  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity. 

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast-paced, private equity backed environment. 

  • Experience of using Microsoft Teams, Excel, formatting word documents and using DocuSign.  

  • Knowledge of compliance and data protection is a bonus.
