Job Description:

About the Role

IMAX is looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our growing Finance team. We’re looking for someone who will have accountability for the full management reporting, financial accounting and analysis for IMAX Corporation consolidated. You’ll work with complex and challenging technical issues within U.S. and Canadian GAAP environments and over 30 entities with international operations and joint ventures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage, prepare and review quarterly filings for the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (US GAAP) and Ontario Securities Commission (CDN GAAP) including 10Qs, 10Ks, 8Ks, Sarbanes-Oxley Certifications, etc.

  • Complete the monthly financial reporting consolidation of approximately 30 subsidiaries and affiliates

  • Coordinate and manage all audit and review engagements with external auditors

  • Manage and review consolidated financial statements and detailed monthly reporting packages

  • Review and analyze financial statements of subsidiary and corporate companies

  • Manage and prepare Board of Directors reports and key statistics used and distributed in conference calls and Board meetings

  • Research, analyze and assess the impact of U.S. and Canadian accounting standards and pronouncements

  • Liaison for tax and budgeting and planning departments

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years’ financial/corporate accounting experience, including auditing public companies

  • CPA/CA

  • Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian GAAP

  • Previous people management experience with demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Strong computer skills and proficient with Excel and accounting software

Nice to Have:

  • SAP experience a plus

  • Hands-on team player, able to interact professionally with all levels including staff outside of the Finance group and external auditors

  • Self-motivated, objectives-oriented individual who is able to work under very tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail

  • Excellent problem-solving and researching skills
