Lead Android Developer

Responsibilities

  • Leading A team of 4-8 Resources
  • Discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Groom, mentor and upskill team members with modern technologies and development practices.
  • Designing and implementing new features for our Android TV/Mobile application, improving, and maintaining the existing codebase, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the app is high-quality and performs well, and writing clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Monitoring the performance of live apps and working on optimizing them at the code level
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks, rectifying bugs, and enhancing application performance
  • Performing unit and instrumentation tests on code
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design new features
  • Staying up to date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols

Requirement & Key Competencies:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Android app development, strong experience in Android App development and design principles, experience with video streaming is an Add on
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-3 Year of experience in leading a team.

  • Skillset:
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
  • Prior experience as an Android Developer using Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, and Android NDK.
  • Experience in publishing an application on the Google Play store.
  • Proven work experience in design patterns mobile architecture using frameworks such as MVVM/MVC/MVP.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  •  Problem solving with good analytical skills.
  • In Depth Knowledge on Android Basic components and Use cases
  • Strong  Hands on experience in  Kotlin
  • Knowledge on Data Structures
  • Usage of Debugging and Performance tools
  • Efficient in writing Unit and Espresso tests.

Good to have skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud-based services like AWS and GCP.
  • Working knowledge of Video streaming and playback
  • Knowledge of modern programming paradigms like functional and reactive programming.
