160over90, the full-service advertising/marketing agency of Endeavor, helps global brands leverage all aspects of culture, including brand management and solutions, experiential marketing, activations, strategic consulting services, public relations and communications, digital consulting, creative ideation and design, branded content development and production, event management and production, digital and social campaigns, influencer marketing and sponsorship and partnership marketing.

Key Results Areas:

  • The role will involve a significant amount of advertising, entertainment, sports, and media work, supporting a range of clients across the division.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial contracts, including agency, consulting, master services, talent, influencer, representation, licensing, creative services, sponsorship, vendor, marketing, digital services, rental, venue, location, and production agreements, as well as statements of work, participation and guest releases, photo releases, and waivers.

  • Provide daily legal support for a wide variety of client engagements, including integrated campaigns, digital advertising, social media campaigns, web and mobile app design and development, and experiential activations/events.

  • Provide comprehensive and commercial sound legal advice and counsel to internal business units and company leadership on various advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns, including IP-related matters, ASA/CAP Code and consumer protection laws, data privacy, and overarching risk assessment.

  • Research, manage, and track existing contractual obligations, including compliance with such obligations.

  • Coordinate with business, finance, data privacy/security, and compliance teams to assist with deal development.

  • Provide real-time analysis and advice on business and legal issues, including questions of contract interpretation and enforcement.

  • Implement and refine policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective contract-administration and document-management processes.

  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Pro-actively collaborate and support other members of the legal team (London, NYC, and other international colleagues) to ensure that best practice and knowledge is understood, shared, and utilised amongst the team.

  • Work pro-actively and closely with the business to ensure that colleagues are aware of the importance of involving the Legal team at the outset in any commercial opportunity or discussion.

Working Conditions:

Permanent – London, City Road.

Working hours are: 9am-5pm, Occasionally there will be late calls to facilitate meetings and briefings with the wider global legal team. You may also be required to work some unsociable hours to meet business deadlines.

Working days are: Monday to Friday.

Travel: Occasional travel to other offices in London and potentially other international offices will be required.
 

You Have These:

  • 3-5 years PQE, with some experience in the advertising/marketing, entertainment, sports, or media industry preferred but not required.  Previous experience working at a law firm and as in-house counsel.

  • Experience with drafting general commercial contracts, including free drafting

  • Worked in a commercial environment

  • Training in top tier legal practice

  • The ability to assimilate and understand salient points of commercial opportunities with both speed and accuracy

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills that will enable interaction with a range of seniority levels and styles in a fast-paced business environment (including explaining legal concepts to clients and colleagues who may have limited legal knowledge and time)

  • Ability to juggle and prioritise a varied and heavy workload with the ability to plan ahead

  • Able to work to deadlines with efficiency and accuracy

  • Comfort with a variety of technology, including advanced Word and Excel skills

  • Commercial acumen with the ability to navigate risk and reward

  • Fully qualified UK Solicitor

  • Focused, highly organized, and thorough

  • Ability to develop rapport with immediate and wider colleagues

  • Effective and creative solution-oriented problem-solving approach to legal issues and a strong work ethic

  • Upbeat temperament, dynamic personality, and highly team-oriented approach to work

We’d Love If You Also Have These: 

  • Experience with working with high level executives in own and client/customer organisations

  • Relevant experience in digital media or an agency environment

  • In house and Middle East (or other international) experience
