Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Digital Team’s main responsibilities are for the frieze.com website, our iOS and Android Fair and Member Benefits mobile application, the company’s web-based CRM application, our Membership platform and our Online Viewing Room. We are also responsible for building and maintaining a suite of B2B fair management web applications, including our fair timeslot booking and ticketing products.
The Full Stack Developer is a core member of the Digital Team, reporting to the Senior Developer and working alongside other Developers, Product and Project management, and the Data and Insights team also within the directorate. You will be helping us innovate and drive change, finding and architecting business-critical digital and technical solutions for all areas of the business.
Main Responsibilities:
Creating stable, scalable and flexible digital products across all business units in a wide range of technologies, as well as maintaining and iteratively improving our existing infrastructure
Working in a fast-paced, agile environment, managed by our Digital Product Manager and Digital Programme Manager
Helping to maintain and improve our development and hosting platforms, processes and pipelines
Researching and experimenting with new technologies and products, with the goal to always seek new and better ways to solve our problems
Knowledge and Experience
At least 3 years’ real-world experience developing, hosting and maintaining websites and building mobile applications using a wide range of modern and standard frameworks and approaches
A portfolio of work or previous projects which demonstrate the required skills and abilities
Experience in collaborating with 3rd party web development agencies and contract developers
Skills and Abilities
Mandatory
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in a range of web and mobile technologies, specifically React.js
Good experience of building and consuming REST-based APIs
Strong understanding of HTML, JavaScript (including jQuery) and CSS (including SASS or similar)
Knowledge of SQL-based databases, such as MySQL and Postgres
Firm grasp of version control concepts and best practices, such as Git
Ability and experience in troubleshooting complex applications and integrations
Desirable
Some experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Experience in configuring cloud-based hosting environments such as AWS and Heroku but equally, you should also have a good understanding of traditional web hosting technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, etc)
An appreciation of what makes a good, accessible UI/UX and an ability to implement it
A good knowledge and appreciation of the command line

Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment, with an adaptable, pragmatic and collaborative attitude to work where team performance and the right outcome for the business are paramount
