We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Workplace Operations & Experience to join the Workplace team. UKTV is a multi-awarding winning media company with a highly engaged and diverse group of talented colleagues using our workspace.
 
As the Head of Workplace Operations and Experience you will drive the delivery of an outstanding workspace and experience that supports all colleagues in doing their best work.
 
You will lead and inspire a team responsible for all aspects of Workplace Operations and Experience, including facilities management, sustainability, health and safety and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record in all areas of operational facilities management within commercial buildings, including contractor and property management  
  • Excellent understanding of statutory compliance including health and safety, fire, and environmental health
  • Proven experience of managing department budgets and controls effectively
  • Skilled at directing projects from initial concept to final delivery ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed at every stage of the process
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, and demonstrable experience of collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders across multiple department sat multiple levels to support Workplace strategy and ambition
  • Experience of driving the sustainability agenda and implementing innovative and successful programmes across energy, waste, partners & suppliers, and company-wide engagement
  • IWFM membership 
  • NEBOSH qualifications in H&S

Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure the UKTV workspace supports and contributes to the company’s strategy and the wellbeing of all colleagues
  • Oversee all Workplace Operations, Experience, FM, H&S, Environmental policies and procedures in line with any legislative changes
  • Cultivate and lead a high performing team, creating an inclusive environment and providing clear direction, inspiring, motivating and developing them to perform at their best
  • Lead Workplace operations, strategy and design covering capacity/occupancy planning, workplace environment, wellbeing, sustainability, accessibility and engagement
  • Build and cultivate relationships with all internal teams as a trusted supplier of services and advice
  • Key point of contact for Landlord & Landlord’s Agent; work alongside Landlord’s agents to organise/resolve planned or reactive building / maintenance issues, including bi-annual power-down 
  • Manage real estate matters, including rent review and lease agreements
  • Financial management of day-to-day Operations and Capex projects and budgets, including continuous review, measure and benchmark of operational costs and service levels
  • Ensure maintenance of all audit lists including workforce lists, maintenance logs and PPM databases 
  • Manage administration of all FM contracts including maintenance visits, contract renewal and in partnership with the legal team, contract negotiation to ensure the best value and service contracts are in place
  • Procure and select vendors, suppliers and external consultants to support projects
  • Ensure the completion of H&S Risk assessments and resolution of non-compliances 
  • Ensure the Workplace Team coordinate personal risk assessments (including DSE, pregnancy, young persons, disability, illness and injury) and set up buddy systems to reduce risk in emergency situations
  • Ensure our building, office access and usage complies with and promotes practices and recommendations within the Equality Act, seeking opportunities to improve workplace accessibility and inclusivity
