Barry Crerar, a film production company run by producing duo Ciara Barry and Rosie Crerar, is seeking a creative, driven Head of Development. Working primarily in Film, Barry Crerar is also now expanding into TV. The Head of Development will work on the existing slate, and will be tasked to build a slate of new international projects and IP.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with substantial previous experience of the UK Film industry to steer the development slate of an exciting and inclusive Scottish company. They will be responsible for Barry Crerar’s slate and will be required to work with significant autonomy reporting to the Directors. They must therefore have experience with funders and broadcasters, excellent editorial judgement, and confidence in running a development slate in a fast paced Film/ TV production company.
The Head of Development is not required to be based in Scotland although they should have a good understanding of the distinct cultural context that Barry Crerar contributes to within Scotland, alongside strong contacts in the UK and internationally, and sound knowledge of the international marketplace.

Based in Glasgow, the company was founded with a commitment to produce underseen stories that inspire, provoke and entertain, prioritising female and under-represented voices both in front and behind the camera. In 2023, the company was one of 24 recipients to receive a business development award from UK Global Screen Fund.
