Job Description

Barry Crerar, a film production company run by producing duo Ciara Barry and Rosie Crerar, is seeking a creative, driven Head of Development. Working primarily in Film, Barry Crerar is also now expanding into TV. The Head of Development will work on the existing slate, and will be tasked to build a slate of new international projects and IP.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with substantial previous experience of the UK Film industry to steer the development slate of an exciting and inclusive Scottish company. They will be responsible for Barry Crerar’s slate and will be required to work with significant autonomy reporting to the Directors. They must therefore have experience with funders and broadcasters, excellent editorial judgement, and confidence in running a development slate in a fast paced Film/ TV production company.

The Head of Development is not required to be based in Scotland although they should have a good understanding of the distinct cultural context that Barry Crerar contributes to within Scotland, alongside strong contacts in the UK and internationally, and sound knowledge of the international marketplace.

Barry Crerar is an exciting, ambitious, internationally focused company. We seek someone who will be a core member of our team, who will work with us to shape the slate and the company in the years to come.

If you are excited by this role we’d love to hear from you. Deadline for applications will be 8th June 2023. We will conduct interviews in June, and look to start this role in July 2023.

We aspire to remove barriers and be open to all. We fully support Access to Work applications. To apply for the role, you must be eligible to work in the UK – Barry Crerar is not a sponsoring organisation.
