ELIGIBILITY

This opportunity is an entry level role therefore no prior experience in a similar role or specific qualifications are required. We are looking for someone who is driven, eager to learn and has a passion to work at Channel 4 and is interested to experience a career in a Sales environment.  If this sounds like you, we would welcome your application.

TEAM DESCRIPTION

Channel 4 is a Public Service Broadcaster (PSB), we exist to be an alternative to the other broadcasters (BBC & ITV).  Unlike the BBC, Channel 4 doesn’t get its funding via the TV License it is solely funded by advertising.  Therefore Channel 4 has its own dedicated Sales Team; 4Sales.

4Sales are charged with generating maximum commercial revenue on sustainable basis.  There are many different teams within 4Sales in Manchester, AV (Audio Visual) Team who look after advertising campaigns, from set up to working with our agency partners, the Commercial Team, who work with agencies on bringing in revenue, an internal Operations team, who help ensure the smooth running of all campaigns, our Client Team, who work directly with advertisers’ briefs, alongside some smaller teams that look after Sponsorship, 4Studio & 4Creative. 

The Internship will be focused into the AV team, the Commercial Team and then an understanding of the Wider team.  The role will look at managing advertising campaigns (space in between the programming, middle or end where you will see the adverts), speaking with agencies and understanding what they need for their clients, and working with the internal team to ensure both agencies (advertisers) and Channel 4 are working the most efficiently they can.

JOB PURPOSE

Mainly administrative tasks of working in 4Sales, across all Channel 4 stations & platforms, across many different advertisers TV campaigns. Building client relationships, with many different advertising agencies, from the largest agencies in the UK down to speaking directly with advertisers too.  Gaining a good understanding of advertisers’ we work with & understanding how channel 4 works & operates. 

Channel 4 Owned Stations: C4 Live, E4, More4, Film4, C4 Streaming

Channel 4 Partner Stations: Gold, Really, Watch, Drama, Alibi, Eden, Home, Yesterday

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Know Channel 4 programming (and like some of it!)
  • Be able to talk to people, whether is via email, phone, Team’s meeting or in person
  • Work on your own, but also lean into a team & work together
  • Being organised & comfortable working to deadlines
  • Be keen to learn about all our products
  • Working with numbers & spreadsheets

  • Efficient with computer software
  • Not intimidated with/by numbers

  • Comfortable with building relationships, internally & externally
