We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Digital Insight Executive to join the Insight team.
They will be responsible for regular reporting, responding to/tackling on-product data requests, editorial and platform analysis, ROI calculations and delivery of such information in weekly and monthly meetings. They will also have an opportunity to get involved with A/B testing of content, product changes and providing reports to enable tactical content improvements. The role will involve making actionable recommendations for the success of UKTV’s digital services, developments in measurement, the product, marketing, and content.
In this role you will get to:
- help deliver on the VoD strategy and have a direct influence on the future of UKTV Play marketing, product and editorial.
- You will drive audience-based decisions around digital initiatives using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You will also utilise both internal and external data/sources to analyse user data and examine user behaviour (working closely with the Digital Insight Managers). This will include working on in-house projects, as well as projects with external research agencies.
- Critically, you will help to build connections with the linear business to advise on the interplay between Channels and UKTV Play with regards to windowing and audience migration.
- You will work with the wider Insight team to challenge the status quo and utilise strong relationships to break new ground and drive UKTV’s digital services forward.

We are looking for someone who has:
- an inquisitive and strategic mind, with a genuine passion for TV and VoD. You will have experience of working with various data sources and enjoy finding solutions to complex problems and can proactively anticipate research needs. It is essential that you can successfully translate stakeholder requests into research requirements, ultimately providing insight-based solutions.
- You are a strong communicator, highly numerate and will be comfortable spending time manipulating spreadsheets and turning complex data into digestible insights that can be translated to less numerate, and less VoD-savvy stakeholders.
- You have a keen interest in consumer trends and are creative in combining different methodologies and data sets to find solutions. You will be confident and always aim to deliver best in class digital analysis.
- As viewing behaviours adapt and new platforms emerge, you will integral to expanding the Digital Insight team’s audience understanding and developments in measurements.
Who you are:
- Experience of working in an Insight role preferable
- Strong research project management skills with experience of delivering projects on brief, time and budget
- A strategic thinker who can apply consumer insight, is highly numerate and able to see patterns in numbers easily
- Able to raise the profile of digital research and help create a centre of excellence
- Trusts own judgement in unprecedented situations and can deliver opinion with gravitas
- Able to drive the implementation of research recommendations
- Comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
- Fully conversant with market/competitor knowledge to make sound business judgements
- Experienced in presenting findings to non-researchers, telling a clear and compelling story
- Adept at combining metrics from various sources
- An understanding of TV metrics and the ability to combine TV and VoD data sources to measure total consumption and facilitate the understanding of holistic audience behaviour is preferable
- Experience of commissioning quant and qual research
- Very good use of Excel and PowerPoint to manipulate and present data to a high standard
