We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Manager (13-month FTC) to join the Marketing team.
The Senior Marketing Manager reports to the Marketing Director and the Channel Directors for Drama and Alibi and is primarily responsible for the growth and strength of the award-winning channel brands – Drama and Alibi, as well as the recruitment and retention of audiences through the shaping and execution of effective marketing strategies & plans.
As an intrinsic, senior member of the multi-functional Channel team (led by the Channel Director), this role works in close partnership with the Marketing Director and Channel Director, to drive the brand strategy and the marketing approach for promoting and growing the channel brands both on-air & off-air, with direct responsibility for the brand and marketing performance.
This role is expected to build productive working relationships across a wide group of key stakeholders / partners, including Marketing, Creative, Scheduling, Commissioning, Comms and Social; working collaboratively to influence strategy, drive performance and enhance the creativity & effectiveness of our channel brands and programming.
In this role you will get to:
- Drama is Britain’s biggest non-PSB commercial TV brand, and Alibi is a top performing crime drama channel exclusive in pay TV homes. This role will own the marketing plans for both brands.
- Launch UKTV’s programming with scale to audiences across television and VoD
- Support the Marketing Director on budget ownership and set the prioritisation and long-term strategy for these brands to contribute to business growth
- Lead a high performing team
- Manage the relationships with internal and external agencies and work collaboratively with internal and external programme makers
We are looking for someone who has:
- Some form of classical marketing training
- Significant B2C campaign experience
- Excellent personal skills, coupled with EQ

Who you are....
- You will be an experienced marketer with extensive track record of building brands, and a skill set of brand strategy, advertising campaign development and measurement and evaluation.
- You are a champion for diversity; both internally and also with any consumer facing work.
- You will have excellent leadership skills with a track record of building, coaching and motivating teams. Must be able to guide people through change, set direction and give clarity on what success looks like; now & in the future.
- You will preferably have experience of both paid-for media and owned media, with expertise in both traditional & digital mediums working with media agencies.
- You will have a consistent track record of inspiring trust & respect both internally and externally; building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing others effectively.
- Strong communication skills that sets clear direction and mobilises the team to deliver. You will be capable of communicating with diplomacy & clarity, successfully conveying a strategic narrative, and taking others on the journey with you; including mobilising teams to execute the strategy.

- Proven ability to manage the art and science of marketing with creative flair and a strong understanding of what is driving performance, budget management.
- Understands commercial targets and connects to brand KPIs, delivering marketing plans that drive business growth.
What you will do...
- Lead, coach and develop the marketing and media planning teams
- Be the champion for the Drama and Alibi brands in the business. Lead the marketing strategy & plans for Drama and Alibi channel brands in conjunction with the Marketing Director and the Channel Directors.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Channel Directors to lead the design of the long-term brand building strategies and development plans necessary to deliver sustainable growth and realise our commercial goals. Set a clear direction and mobilise the team to deliver against the strategy.
- Be the champion of the consumer in the business, partnering with Insight and Creative planning functions to deliver insight-led marketing campaigns and brand strategies
- Initiate research and use available data sources to evaluate on-going performance, identify issues and opportunities, and recommend courses of action.
- Work closely with our agency partners, and our own in-house creative, planning and media teams, to translate insights into effective strategies and plans.
- Support prioritisation of activity across the network in collaboration with the Marketing Director.
