We are looking for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer to join our fast-paced and growing team, supporting our Head of Systems with the day-to-day running of an award-winning VFX post house. Included in all areas of Freefolk's IT infrastructure, you'll also assist other engineers in the support, maintenance, design and implementation to ensure maximum performance, availability and reliability of the supported platform.

Description
Maintain and support our Linux servers and workstation infrastructure
Provide hands-on support to our remote and on-site VFX Artists, Producers and Pipeline TDs
Install, configure and upgrade software, server and network infrastructure
Maintain internal technical documentation and provide updates for assigned deliverables
Implementing and supporting a wide variety of software and hardware including but not limited to:
RedHat/CentOS Linux and Microsoft Windows for desktop and server
VMWare vSphere
Mellanox and Aruba switches
Network monitoring and centralized logging
Flame, Nuke, Maya, Houdini
Requirements
Fluent in RedHat-based OSes for both server and workstation, must have previous experience in Linux System Administration roles
Creating, using and optimizing VMs (vmWare)
Linux lifecycle management tooling experiences such as Ansible, Foreman, Puppet, Saltstack or Chef
Knowledge of IP networks, subnets, routing and network services (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMB)
Scripting experience using Python
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, sound work methodology
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams
Well organised and good time management
Nice to have
Experience in the VFX industry
Microsoft ActiveDirectory management
REZ Packaging Manager (ASWF)
Familiarity in administering macOS systems
Supporting a render farm (Deadline)
Understanding of GPFS or similar clustered file systems
Experience using cloud services (AWS) and compiling software
Monitoring disk usage and maintaining disk storage technologies
Knowledge of security best practices, firewalls and software licensing
