Job Title: Sport Apprentice Reports to: Head of Sport Department: News & Current Affairs Location: Leeds Number of roles: 1 Start date: September 2023 THE C4 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME If you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience and a qualification, then an apprenticeship at Channel 4 might be for you. Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps. The training is dependent on the qualification your apprenticeship offers and will be explained in detail by the training provider before you officially begin the course. You can read more about the qualification being offered for this apprenticeship below. Our apprenticeships are aimed at school leavers and people who do not have a degree. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Channel 4 Sport is home of the Paralympics, the British Grand Prix, Super League and live England football. We aim to bring big, distinctive sporting events free to air to audiences all around the UK. We want our sports coverage to be broad, entertaining, and fun we’re always hungry for the next generation of ideas. Channel 4 sport is responsible for acquiring the broadcast rights for sporting competitions and tendering out the contracts to produce the shows. We also play a key role in decision making on talent, form and style of the shows and overseeing all our live sports output. Our biggest challenge on the horizon is the Paralympics in Paris in 2024 and we are determined to make our coverage the best for this amazing event. During your time in the sports team, you’ll get involved in all areas of the work we do and we’ll help you to quickly build up your skills and knowledge of the broadcast industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITES
