Gravity Media are expanding their pool of talent, and are looking for a Unit Manager to join the evolving projects team to deliver high end, leading broadcast facilities to a variety of clients across sport and entertainment.

A key deliverable and focus of the role will be to work with Gravity Media’s existing and growing fleet of Outside Broadcast trucks, acting as the Unit Manager and being present at projects and events.

As a Unit Manager you will be working primarily on location throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. The position will also include planning and preparation at our Watford base. You’ll be expected to conduct site surveys, understand production values and offer advice on technical solutions to give our clients a premium service.


  • Bring together and drive our approach to UK truck-based OBs, with the opportunity for some work within the rest of Europe.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients ensuring the return of future business.
  • Act as the conduit between client and Gravity Media corresponding with all internal departments including production, assets, engineering, and warehouse operations to guarantee a smooth delivery from planning through to transmission.
  • Compile and issue detailed planning documents for base and on-site crew to work from including planning sheets, equipment lists, schedules, and plans.
  • Work within a budget and manage on site additions.
  • Be the lead Gravity Media on site representative for H&S, First Aid, BS7909 and other standards/policies.
  • Efficient crew deployment and managing timelines making sure deadlines are met.
  • Work collaboratively to initiate and design new technical methods to improve efficiencies.
  • Support and develop internal processes.


Adhering to our company H&S policy and ensuring that all company risk assessments are observed where applicable to your role, taking ownership of improvements and escalating concerns where necessary.


Contribute to the continual improvement of our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal obligations and maintain certification.


  • A solid technical understanding of broadcast workflows and methods across all departments.

  • Comprehensive IT skills across a range of programs and platforms.


  • Extensive knowledge of the broadcast industry with considerable experience.
