 Head of Talent Acquisition (FTC)
 
 
 
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Talent Acquisition (Mat Cover) to join the HR team. You will lead a high performing and effective Talent Acquisition function and team, who partner with the business to bring the best talent to UKTV and ultimately help achieve the company¿s ambitious strategy. You will oversee the recruitment process, ensuring that fairness and a focus on diversity and inclusion runs through all that we do. You will be an integral part of the Senior HR team in delivering on the ambitious HR 2022/23 objectives, feeding into the overall UKTV company objectives.
 
With a company focus on our Video on Demand, its an exciting time to join as you will have a chance to contribute to a growing area of the business by hiring the best digital talent in the industry to drive UKTV's strategy forward. In addition, there will be lots of exciting projects to lead on and get stuck in to!
 
 
In this role you will get to:
  • Lead on some exciting and collaborative projects which will include:
  • Leading and supporting on an innovative talent and resourcing strategy to attract and source the best talent to help deliver UKTV's growth ambitions particularly around VOD and digital
  • Lead on the implementation of a new Applicant Tracking System
  • Leading on the new UKTV Work Experience Programme - Partner with various charities and organisations to bring in diverse talent who need an opportunity to break into the TV industry
  • Lead on the strategy and implementation for the UKTV Mutual Mentoring Programme Breaking Barriers
  • Play a key part in developing UKTV talent through internal mobility - a particular focus on developing great relationships with the BBCS talent team to help colleagues grow their careers through opportunities at BBCS and vice versa
  • Play an important role in fulfilling BBCS and UKTV's 50/20/12 diversity targets, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team to deliver on this
  • Partner with the UKTV Executive Leadership team to recruit key senior hires within their teams as well as advising on the recruitment strategies and challenges within their teams
 
We are looking for someone who has:
  • The ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level with solid experience of leading and managing a best-in-class talent acquisition function in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Successfully led an in-house talent function within a wider HR team and has experience of managing and developing a small team
  • Proven success of delivering on talent projects including ATS system implementation from start to finish
  • Has experience of reporting and analysing both recruitment and diversity data, with proven success in improving on these YOY.
  • Worked closely with Senior Executive Leadership teams as a trusted partner on successful recruitment of senior hires, influencing and advising on the recruitment of their respective business areas
  • Experience of being a brand ambassador both internally and externally
  • Someone who has demonstrated their passion and commitment to diversity and inclusion and championing difference
 
 
Who you are:
  • Able to operate at both a strategic and operational level with solid experience of leading and managing a best-in-class talent acquisition function in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong motivational skills with a proven track record of leading and managing a busy in-house recruitment team - inspiring members and the wider HR team to work collaboratively together
  • A strong track record of creatively sourcing and hiring diverse talent at all levels and across multiple functions, and of developing and implementing an innovative talent acquisition strategy within media or related industries.
  • Someone who has demonstrated their passion and commitment to diversity and inclusion and championing difference
  • A self-starter who takes a proactive and flexible approach to work; has the ability to solve problems and think creatively; strong team player with a naturally collaborative style who is happy to get struck in as required.
  • Demonstrable customer service focus, with a proven track record of providing an outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience, and delivering against key talent acquisition KPI's and goals for the business.
  • Good knowledge of key and emerging talent in relevant industries and possesses the skills to build a network quickly and comprehensively.
  • Confident to challenge when needed in a diplomatic and constructive way in order to achieve the best outcomes
  • Experience of leading, managing and supporting various talent acquisition projects from inception, through to delivery and evaluation - including the successful introduction of a recruitment applicant tracking and management system.
  • Ability to navigate and build strong relationships and credibility at all levels with proven skills at partnering with key senior business stakeholders and HR colleagues.  Gains the confidence and trust of others through displaying strong leadership skills, role modelling values, and following through on commitments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate during discussions and in writing, deliver regular updates and feedback clearly and tactfully.
  • A brand ambassador with a genuine passion for people and talent acquisition - someone who naturally lives and breathes the culture and inspires others to join the business.
  • Experience of improving a brand's EVP within the talent market
  • Exceptionally organised with the ability to plan, multi-task and juggle various priorities across the business effectively.  Calm under pressure.
  • Has a thorough understanding of best practice approaches and UK legislation and GDPR in relation to talent and recruitment.
  • Naturally curious with a proactive approach to on-going learning and professional development, actively staying up to date with the latest thinking within the Talent Acquisition field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and turn complex information into a simple meaningful story to aid decision making and direction setting.
  • Confident in delivering presentations and/ or training to senior teams and at all company meetings
  • Adept at managing and controlling budgets effectively.
  • An experienced negotiator and influencer who can confidently negotiate and agree agency terms, SLA's, salary packages and challenge key business stakeholders.
