4Studio is the engine room for C4’s digital acceleration strategy, with the primary mission to create, adapt and distribute content across the key social media channels.

The primary activities of 4Studio is to curate (existing) and create (new) short-form content and distribute it through actively managed social media channels. 

4Studio is based in C4’s new National HQ in Leeds and is a key component of C4’s regional strategy, creating creative job opportunities outside London and expanding the diversity of the company’s creative contribution.


In order to generate the world class social media content that is needed to make Channel 4 Corporation the market leader in digital presence and innovation, we need a world class creative and content team. The successful applicant will be a core part of that team.

You’ll own the weekly schedules for a variety of creative projects within the team, managing in line with department priorities. Working closely with producers, editors and social media managers you will help make sure everyone stays on track. It goes without saying that you’ll be obsessive about timelines, great with a spreadsheet and used to keeping people to deadlines and ensuring priorities are met.  

The Digital Traffic Assistant needs to be exceptionally well organised with a flexible, proactive approach. You will work with the team to find solutions to scheduling issues and not afraid to keep us on our toes. 

This role will be based in the Leeds office and job holder may be required to liaise with the broader team on any given project including Marketing and Commissioning teams as well as with all Channel 4 departments, to ensure as coherent an approach as possible.

  • You’ll receive briefing documents from the wider team and schedule the workloads according to priorities and staff availability
  • You’ll have day-to-day ownership of supporting documentation and content creation logistics
  • You’ll be confident in identifying how processes can be defined or improved. We’re a fairly new department so you’re coming in on the ground and we’re interested to hear your ideas
  • You will be required to manage the, sometimes competing, demands of key stakeholders. Cool under pressure and excellent powers of persuasion are required
  • You’ll assist in overseeing asset delivery including identifying blockers that the team regularly come across
  • You’ll support our Traffic Manager on mid to long term planning where needed
  • You’ll be solution-focused, calm in a crisis and a voice of reason when things don’t go according to plan 
  • You’ll be passionate about the fast-paced world of digital production 
  • You should be passionate about Channel 4’s output, remit and values. They come into everything we do
  • You’ll work in our Leeds HQ as part of the 4Studio team, and in partnership with multiple other stakeholders and may be required to travel to other Channel 4 locations occasionally.


Technical & Professional Skills 
  • Proven experience in a similar role, especially for a digital team or agency.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools and methodologies, including agile working
  • Should be a quick learner and curious about new technologies and solutions
  • Have a good understanding of digital production processes
  • Experience of using productivity tools such as Monday or Trello is preferred
  • Experience of working in an agile environment would be advantageous 
  • Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
  • Should be confident in communicating at a wide variety of levels
  • Able to reprioritise workloads according to changing needs
  • Must be highly organised.
Managing Resources
  • Ability to find, negotiate with and manage freelance resource when required
  • Will manage digital production workflows and schedules via a number of cloud-based tools.
Relationship Management
  • Proven experience of establishing close working relationships (will be required to build relationships with C4’s on-line / digital departments and suppliers) and able to communicate with differing departments to meet differing demands.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with the above departments to prioritise and communicate deadlines and workflows
  • Works regularly with a mixture of people from management, production teams, and third party suppliers.
  • Must be collaborative in their approach.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication.
