Location: to be based in either London, Leeds, or Bristol

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The People function supports our three core business areas: Creative, Commercial and Operations. Each of these is supported by the People Generalist team, made up of Senior People Partners, People Partners, and People Assistants, working in conjunction with specialists in Reward, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and People Systems. 

As a team, we help the business to improve and evolve and ensure that our people are supported, developed and engaged as they deliver on C4’s remit.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Senior People Partner, the HR Operations Team Lead will be a key member of the People team and responsible for embedding a consistent Employee Experience in C4. This is a newly created role which includes establishing, improving, and embedding people processes and policies across all business areas consistently to make C4 the best place to work.

It requires experience of managing HR assistants, alongside prior experience of evaluating and defining process flows, implementing new ways of working and evaluating progress.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading a team of People assistant to ensure that people, resources, and processes are aligned with business needs and fit for purpose.
  • Driving continual improvements by overseeing the Employee Experience throughout the employee lifecycle - including onboarding, changes to terms and conditions and offboarding etc.
  • Review HR Processes and bridge any gaps in efficiencies by driving, documenting, and mapping customer centric processes across team, reducing manual processing time, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing end user experience.
  • Updating and implementing policy improvements to ensure a ‘one stop shop’ for our employees, including working with Employee Rep Groups to be the conduit to the business.
  • Collaborating with our Finance team to ensure governance and accurate submissions to our Remuneration Committee.
  • Applying best practise tools and techniques to delivery of key people related activities such as Employee recognition and wellbeing programmes.
  • Work closely with the Business Partnering team and the wider People team to establish a service catalogue (creating and maintenance of team’s remit) with the ambition to create defined SLA’s and a clear remit.
  • Supporting and coaching team members to facilitate knowledge and experience growth.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Proven HR generalist experience and of managing operational HR activity.
  • Prior experience of reviewing and updating HR processes.
  • Proven experience of undertaking customer journey and process mapping.
  • Prior experience of line management.
  • Problem solving and forward thinking (beyond fixing the immediate ask, seeking to understand the root cause).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders from across the business.
  • Outcome focused with the ability to proactively take initiative, use good judgment to prioritise requests and be comfortable working based on initiative.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills, natural team player, who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues but equally able to work on your own initiative.
  • Team player, prepared to multitask and lean into delivery as and when required.
