Reports to: Commercial Revenue Officer (CRO)

C4 is owned by the public and fully funded by advertising, so maximising revenue which can be invested back on screen is paramount. Each year the 4Sales team generates over £1billion of advertising revenue, across a range of products including, spot, digital, sponsorship, branded entertainment, 4studio and creative partnerships. This revenue is then used to produce the high-quality, innovative, and entertaining programming that our viewers love so much.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven individual who can influence and work within a cross functional environment to drive end to end initiatives to completion. We’re looking for highly motivated individual who enjoys shaping a role and brining strategy to life.

  • Reporting to the CRO, this role will support the CRO and Commercial leadership team in executing the strategy and amalgamating the operational and strategic plan for the CRO function (functional plan).
  • Create and maintain a roadmap of priorities, sequencing, and tracking progress against these, resolving blockages to progress to ensure delivery on-time and to meet agreed strategic targets.
  • Has overall responsibility for the quality, completeness and integrity of the functional plan ensuring it is routinely updated and communicated.
  • Facilitates CRO meetings by driving agendas based on functional priorities, clearly identifying accountability, setting up effective project management architecture and systems to drive progress.
  • Drives execution of specific actions, prioritising efforts, reviewing progress with teams and escalating as needed.
  • Brings momentum for execution by providing a hands on presence to actions linked to the strategy being rolled out.
  • Establish a full ‘end to end’ view of programme activity including timescales, risks and interdependencies.
  • Ensure the management, analysis and communication of key Commercial projects.
  • Devise and own the Commercial transformation plan.
  • Ensure projects have businesses cases that are clear in terms of their rationale, alignment with strategy, cost and benefits.
  • Identification and tracking of key project milestones and communication to stakeholders.
  • Work with the project owners (HoD’s, Leadership & project teams) to ensure the delivery of key project milestones on time and within budget, resource and policy.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, present on project status, identifying any problems and proposing solutions.
  • Devise and own a regular reporting mechanism for the commercial team.
  • Introduce on-going planning and reporting standards and enable better project prioritisation, co-ordination and delivery accountability.
  • Provide other ad hoc support relating to projects and planning as require.
  • Provides an ‘early warning system’ on risks that lay ahead – e.g. initiative delays, staffing issues.
  • Works with the CRO to drive key decisions forward.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the senior leadership group within 4Sales to deliver to commercial strategy as defined by the CRO.
  • Being able to deal with ambiguity and be comfortable with how this role will evolve over time in a new operating model.
  • Proven track record of executing business transformation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels both internal and external to the organization.
  • Commercial focus, numerate and literate, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage in difficult conversations when necessary - adopting a balanced and impartial point of view.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk and performance issue and facilitate cross functional working to resolve, using escalation paths where necessary.
  • Have the capability to look at problems from all angles.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and managing a range of stakeholders.
