Job Title: 4Skills Coordinator (Leeds) Department: Nations and Regions team Location: Leeds DEPARTMENT As part of C4’s ‘4All the UK’ strategy, in October 2019 we opened a new national HQ in Leeds and a Creative Hub in both Bristol and Glasgow. This will ensure that we serve the whole of the UK and is the biggest change to the organisation’s structure in its history. It will support a significant increase in the organisation’s Nations & Regions spend on creative content – from 35% to 50% of main channel UK commissions by 2023. A key part of this strategy is to attract and develop talent across the UK. 4Skills is our new training and development initiative that brings together all of our existing training schemes across C4. This on-going programme is focussed on finding and nurturing talent from the Nations and Regions with the aim of attracting people into broadcasting and production from diverse backgrounds. 4Skills will address skills gaps and also play a key role in progressing the careers of those already in the industry. JOB PURPOSE This role will be based in Leeds at the National HQ where you’ll play a key role in establishing and implementing our 4Skills programmes with a focus on early talent programmes and youth outreach activity. You’ll be there to inspire young people, informing them and giving them the confidence to consider a career at Channel 4 or in the wider media industry. Reporting into our Partnership & Skills manager, you’ll help support and deliver a wide range of key 4Skills initiatives, including our Production Training Scheme, work experience programmes across Channel 4, new initiatives including the ‘Content Creatives’ scheme with our 4Studio digital unit and our 4Schools engagement programme. More information on 4Skills can be found at careers.channel4.com. You’ll need to be able to manage your own time effectively, work on different projects simultaneously and have a real passion to make a difference and remove barriers for young people to access careers and training. The role is based at the National C4 HQ in Leeds and may require travel when hosting and managing events in the nations and regions. Some evening and weekend work may be required occasionally for which you’ll be given time back in lieu. Key Responsibilities

Jobs at Channel 4
There is nowhere quite like Channel 4. Not in the way we entertain and stimulate our audience, nor in how we encourage and inspire the people who help us deliver for them. Publicly owned yet commercially funded, we occupy a unique place in the UK's media landscape. This is where you can start to change it, be part of it or simply explore it.
