Job Purpose: YMU is looking for a Talent Manager to join its fast-growing Entertainment Division.

We attract elite clients, leading names and pioneering innovators in the UK Entertainment sector and we require a Talent Manager to support our clients across all aspects of their career. 

This is a highly demanding role requiring outstanding organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and a real commitment to delivering excellence. Your day-to-day role will involve overseeing all core management duties for between 5-10 clients, reporting to a Talent Director for each client under your care. You will be a natural self-starter, an attentive listener, a master of checklists, a confident collaborator and somebody who can think on their feet to problem solve. As a Talent Manager you are sometimes required to work out of hours and go above and beyond to ensure our clients have an exceptional experience with YMU.

We’re looking for someone with a love of Entertainment & Culture, a social native who has their finger on the pulse of emerging cultural and creative trends. You should be hungry to make an impact,  to scout for new opportunities and open to sharing fresh ways of thinking with the team.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the day-to-day manager for around 5-10 clients, each with different needs & requirements.
  • Lead point contact for all diary enquiries ensuring the client has clear visibility on their upcoming schedule. Some out of hours work required.
  • Overseeing all travel and booking logistics.
  • Handling contracts and leading on invoicing process, ensuring payments are handled in a timely manner.
  • Contract negotiations and a comprehensive understanding of deal points
  • Attendance to shoots including TV records, photo shoots, events, red carpets and press appointments.
  • Liaising with clients core team; stylist, hair & make-up, producer etc.
  • Working with the YMU commercial team to secure and deliver high-quality commercial & brand partnerships for the client.
  • Working closely with the YMU social team to ensure client has consistent and strategic social strategy.
  • Work closely with clients PR team to oversee PR strategy & handle logistics for press commitments.
  • Communicating and sharing information with senior team
  • A duty to avoid conflict of interests with regards to contracts, brand and programming
  • Responsibility for training and overseeing the development of Assistant Talent Managers
  • Keep informed of industry trends, new platforms and broadcast media
  • Evaluating the talent strategy and implementing new ideas through using initiative
  • Represent clients in a professional manner and tone in all communications issued
  • Proactively source new work and opportunities for the client by leveraging contacts and building upon network to introduce new stakeholders to the business
  • Develop relationships of industry peers in broadcast, radio and corporate and brand e.g. development meetings with production companies
  • Demonstrate strong networking skills and attendance of relevant meetings/events
  • Excellent organisational skills alongside accurate recording of information E.g. filing of paper trails
  • A duty to exercise care, skill and diligence
  • Ability to identify and recommend new signing prospects to the wider team.

 Person Specification: Essential Requirements

  • Experience within Media or the Entertainment Industry will be looked upon favourably
  • Across the board, discretion is of the utmost importance
  • Talent Management experience
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills/ communication
  • Proactive and forward thinking; with excellent industry knowledge and ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential issues in a professional manner
  • Positive attitude with plenty of energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to identify new commercial opportunities and bring them to life.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Drive and Keynote.
  • An understanding of Paprika software is advantageous but not essential. (Training to be offered on the job)
