Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Press Officer, with robust knowledge of the entertainment, factual entertainment, and scripted genres, to take responsibility for delivering key aspects of press activity for Objective Media Group’s growing slate of high-profile programmes. This role will also help shape corporate public relations for OMG’s production companies and, critically, support the Head of Press in responding to and managing sensitive issues, crisis management and upholding our reputation for outstanding duty of care.

The role will include the following responsibilities:


  • Create, run and implement press strategies for new and returning programmes
  • Oversee all written assets for programmes and ensure all written info/billings/PI/press packs/pictures are approved and signed off.
  • Liaise with talent / agents on press strategies, announcements and approvals.
  • Crisis Management – alongside Head of Press, handle complaints, issues and social media crises in conjunction with the relevant broadcaster, and alongside relevant creative executives and Business Affairs, including creating Lines Against Enquiries and OMG quotes as necessary.
  • Oversee relevant duty of care responsibilities for contributors (in co-ordination with broadcasters and production)
  • Coordinate and run screenings and programme events
  • Lead in weekly press pitches
  • Book and contract of photographers for programme publicity images and oversee delivery and approvals of all pictures
  • Liaise with international sales teams on programme deliverables
  • Work alongside label assistants to create and distribute final programme updates including key quotes, press, ratings and social response to series


  • Work alongside the Head of Press on appointment and commissioning announcement press releases
  • Act as first point of contact for all press enquiries
  • Lead on all award submissions for all programmes (including ticket allocations, table plans, etc)


  • Work alongside the Head of Press in managing OMG website and the group’s social media strategy.
  • Managing production company and label websites if the relevant production company / label assistant is not able to do so.
  • Regularly updating TX info and distributing to CEO, Director of Productions and relevant label CCOs.
  • Weekly email updates to all staff including TX information, links to press and videos for sharing on social media.


  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK broadcasters, the wider TV industry, broadcast media and press
  • A solid understanding of, and proven working experience in television publicity, with a passion for cross genre productions
  • Solid experience of devising and running press campaigns for new and returning programmes
  • Robust experience operating within a busy, high profile, and fast-moving company
  • Exceptional time and programme management skills, with the ability to work across a diverse range of companies and to maintain and build strong relationships
  • An excellent instinct for and proven experience of crisis management, i.e. managing potential issues that may arise on productions (and potentially become public) and demonstrating a calm, and collaborative manner in responding to them
  • Solid experience in ensuring the company undertakes all of its responsibilities regarding duty of care to contributors
  • The ability to work under own initiative, meet deadlines and multi-task
  • A proactive, highly organised approach, meticulous attention to detail and an ability to think on their feet and formulate appropriate solutions at pace
  • Robust knowledge of key social media tools (Twitter/Facebook/Instragram etc) and proven experience of contributing to social media strategies
  • Self-motivated, self-confident and articulate with outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent, established contacts across print, broadcast and digital media
  • Solid, proven experience of Adobe and Photoshop
