The Role

A permanent role has arisen for a Project Engineer within the NEP Connect project team to assist NEP Connect in delivering best-in-class services. As a technical Project Engineer, you will provide broadcast and/or communications solutions to both internal and external clients. Typically, these projects will be in an office-based environment although there may be requirement to assist in other project teams within NEP Connect as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of the project cycle as appropriate, working closely with the Projects and Technical Solutions departments with initial capture and definition of client requirements.
• System design architect covering all aspects of client requirements and take responsibility for the specification of suitable fit-for-purpose equipment.
• Create system build information including the project plans (Gantts), drawings and schematics, wiring schedules, and bills of materials associated with the implementation of new and existing services and facilities.
• Manage the installation, test, and commission phases of the project through to successful client acceptance and handover, including the creation of system and handover documentation
• Produce and/or obtain risk assessments and method statements where appropriate, following health and safety regulations and policies, including the company’s guidelines and practices.
• When required oversee external contractors e.g., coach builders, wiring teams, furniture manufacture etc.
• Maintain good working knowledge of industry best practice, staying up to date with developments in the relevant technical fields.
• Participate in regular updates with Head of Projects and assist in the training of new employees as required. Be an active member of the team and role model, contributing towards the continued development and improvement of operational procedures within the department, working with colleagues to integrate fully within the existing project team.

Skills / Qualifications

Required

• Broadcast engineering background with practical installation experience
• Imaginative approach to problem solving
• Good understanding of A/V broadcast systems and RF infrastructure
• Understanding of IP technologies and electrical engineering principles
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time and tasks
• Confident communicator with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
• Flexible, adaptable and self-motivated. Interested in working in a team, but a confident autonomous and loan worker when required
• Good health and safety awareness

Desirable

• Good understanding of fibre and satellite communication systems including mobile and fixed links (terrestrial and satellite)
• CAD skills
• CCNA/P
