Regency Entertainment (UK) Limited is the international sales and distribution arm of New Regency Productions. The Role:

 

This position is responsible for providing legal and commercial support to the International Content Sales and Distribution Division.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

Perform business and legal affairs functions in connection with Regency’s television and digital distribution of motion picture and television content in all markets outside the U.S. and Canada with a focus on pay TV, basic TV, free TV, SVOD and AVOD.

Handle all aspects of licensing matters, including advising on deal structure and strategy, drafting documents, negotiating, and advising all phases of transactions to definitive agreement, and consulting on the management and administration of active agreements.  

 

Review procedures and paperwork for sales team and ensure best practices and deal terms attained, as well as keeping sales team up to speed and ahead of new developments including rights and practices.

Assist with matters related to licensing and distribution, including acquisitions, content protection, delivery, and any legal issues.

Work closely with the lawyers based in the UK and Switzerland to ensure consistency across client groups, with contracting, rights definitions, etc.

Ad hoc legal matters relating to the UK office lease, memberships or staff matters including keeping abreast of health & safety, GDPR and implementing relevant policies.

Monitor legal/industry/technology developments and review and advise on appropriate policies including regarding digital functionalities and the maintenance of legal templates.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

The completion of an LL.B. or EU equivalent

Required certifications for practicing law in England and Wales or other EU jurisdiction with relevant PQE.

Solid experience at a law firm, motion picture studio or distributor handling matters involving licensing and distribution of content.

Extensive working knowledge in contract analysis and review, negotiations, documentation and compliance.
