Head of Sound: We are looking for an experienced Sound Supervisor to join our team as Head of Sound as we prepare to launch Talk TV in 2022. This role will be a senior position and will oversee all aspects of our Sound team and operation across a range of prime time shows including the new Piers Morgan global news and current affairs show.
As a senior member for the News UK Broadcast team:
You will work closely with the Head of studio output, senior directors and rest of the team to support the creative vision of the production
You will be responsible for all the Sound planning across all of our sites
Be the lead and oversee the work of all Sound crew in the studio ensuring the highest standards are met
Liaise with internal and external suppliers and contractors to ensure our work complies with industry safety standards
Advise on the best and most cost efficient ways to achieve the creative vision
Train junior members of the team when required
What we are looking for from you: In order to be successful in this role:
You must have a wealth of experience working in busy live and unscripted News and entertainment programming
You must be familiar with standard studio practises e.g creating clean feeds for outside sources
Be able to programme and troubleshoot Reidel talkback
Be familiar with Dante and Dante controller
Be proficient with spot on both in configuration and live operation
Have experience working with AR and understand how this can affect audio
You must be comfortable working across the whole sound process from planning to QC
Have strong technical knowledge on the latest sound kit and equipment

Piers Morgan, one of the most recognisable broadcasters in the world, is the first signing for talkTV and will deliver a prime time show which promises to be a fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews. Drawing together world-class talent across News UK, talkTV will be broadcast from state-of-the-art studios at The News Building in London Bridge and available live or on-demand, on linear and connected TV and on any personal device.
