Picture Shop UK - Senior Post Production System Engineer

Location: Lexington St, London

Overview of Role:

The Engineering Technical Director will work in a diverse and highly agile environment. A natural problem solver who understands the criticality of service uptime and client service environments and able to work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help support the Head of Engineering with day to day management of team priorities and tasks
  • Baselight Cloud Admin and Support (with Systems Admin team)
  • Baselight General Support – primary interface between engineering, talent, production and Filmlight
  • Assisting Systems and Engineering with Storage Optimization and client-side testing
  • Colour Science and Pipeline knowledge – key member of LNDL Colour Group, adapting LUTs and liaising with Colour Science
  • Projector and Display calibration and set up
  • To further the skills and developments of the grade assists introducing any workflows that might improve productivity
  • Interdepartmental communication and management. Working closely with production to plan and map out projects
  • Manage room setups and liaise with colourists and producers to ensure sessions are set up correctly
  • Flame Support and administration
  • Scripting, Python & BASH experience beneficial

Key Requirements:

  • Able to work at the elite level of Studio Feature post production
  • Hands on support of Feature DI technology including a strong knowledge of multiple and networked Baselight grading system
  • Operational outlook and comfortable with providing our Production team and Clients with well-founded advice on workflow and technology solutions
  • Confident approach to Linux, OSX, Windows, Networking, File Systems.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment, prioritise work effectively, multi-task and understand the impact on Production and Operations in the case of an equipment failure.
  • Able to communicate patiently with multiple challenging stake holders using technical and non-technical language where appropriate.
  • Knowledge of Color Science and its practical application in image production workflows
  • Must be a team player, prepared to share knowledge and develop the skills of others across all Streamland businesses both in the UK and abroad
  • Forward looking, resourceful, natural curiosity about technology and what we do and enjoys solving problems 
  • The role is critical to meeting client deadlines and requires a flexible approach to hours and days worked.
