Job Description

Senior Producer - TV News Bulletins (12 Month FTC): We are looking for a talented senior producer who will be responsible for the production of Talk TV’s half hourly news bulletins. You will manage the team to compile and create the most engaging updates, using your excellent editorial judgement to select and shape stories, write and subedit scripts and react to breaking news. This role involves shift, weekend and bank holiday work.

 

What we are looking for from you: 

  • You are an experienced journalist with strong TV production and live outputting / gallery skills.

  • Confident running a news desk - you are able to make quick editorial decisions under pressure and manage the team to ensure the highest quality content reaches our viewers. 

  • Confident news judgement in being able to deliver breaking stories live

  • You have a meticulous eye for fact-checking and ensure all our stories are written fairly and accurately, with sharp headlines and compelling leads.

  • Someone with a passion for news and current affairs, you have a talent for making complex stories accessible.

  • You can think creatively, bringing fresh ideas about news stories and how we tell them. 

  • You have a thorough understanding of media law and Ofcom guidelines

  • Confident using Inews and Avid

Drawing together world-class talent across News UK, talkTV will be broadcast from state-of-the-art studios at The News Building in London Bridge and available live or on-demand, on linear and connected TV and on any personal device.
