We have an exciting opportunity for a Picture Desk Researcher to join the Consumer Communications team. The Picture Researcher will ensure all promotional imagery is sourced, stored and is searchable from within the central repository of the UKTV Pictures Site. The organisation of this aids the workflow of other departments, as well as showcasing the vast array of impressive original and acquired imagery supporting both channel and programme brands to both internal departments and external partners.
The creation of more imagery for a growing number of UKTV Original commissions, coupled with the growth in demand for imagery from around the business for a variety of reasons has led to increased requests on UKTV’s Picture Desk, which sits within the Front Desk team in the Communications department, and collates the images to its central Pictures site.
As well as assisting in the creation of distinctive, high-standard imagery for UKTV Originals, the UKTV Picture Desk sources a huge amount of image assets from a large number of suppliers. UKTV acquires the best TV content from distributors from around the world, each with their own way of sharing promotional assets such as images.
The Picture Desk help to fulfil the picture requirements of many different internal stakeholders, including UKTV’s direct to consumer streaming service UKTV Play, the social media team, navigation and VOD operations, who all require images to promote UKTV programmes on linear TV, EPGs, on demand platforms, as well as for marketing, press and social campaigns.
