About the role

As the Dailies Colourist/Operator you will be processing client dailies material for delivery to editorial and production. The Dailies Lab will be based between Molinare Soho, PiP Studios Winnersh, major UK studios, on set/near set or on location (worldwide) depending on production requirements.


You will be responsible for colour grading all material using CDL from set or instruction from the DoP. You will be expected to liaise with creatives on set regarding any look or colour decisions. You will also be required to run screenings for production and review and grade sessions with DoP as requested. You will work closely with camera team and editorial to ensure smooth running of the dailies process.


What the day job will probably look like:

  • Processing client media for back up, storage, distribution to editorial and production review.
  • Maintaining attention to detail as you follow the dailies workflow procedure.
  • Ingest, verify and log media and audio.
  • Split and label clips according to camera sheets.
  • Sync sound and correct as required.
  • Apply CDLs & LUT as required.
  • Apply correct extractions and burn-ins as required.
  • QC & review shoot day footage producing daily reports to production flagging any media corruption or error.
  • Render and final check media to upload and deliver to Editorial and Production as specified.
  • Create daily LTO archives off all shoot day media.
  • Communicate directly with production on any matters arising through the dailies process.
  • Communicate promptly with the Dailies Producer/Line Managers on any matters arising through the dailies process.
  • Assisting with any other aspects of the Colour Support department as required: eg conform, deliverables creation, supporting other operators.


What you need to get the job done:

  • Ability to work night shifts.
  • Flexibility to work changing shift patterns.
  • Flexibility to work on location both in the UK and Internationally.
  • Ability to commute to Molinare, Central London and other production locations.
  • Be security conscious and observe confidentiality protocols and all times.
  • Proficient on OSX and Microsoft OS
  • Previous experience with handling metadata and ingesting media.
  • Previous experience with post production software tools such as Filmlight Daylight, Resolve, Avid, etc. an advantage
  • Understanding of secure media sharing software eg Pix
  • Some understanding of industry digital cameras (RED, Arri Alexa, Sony Venice etc)
  • Basic understanding of command line apps and python scripting an advantage
