Job Description

To provide end-to-end live streaming experiences and broadcasts from our studios located in the Midlands office and offsite when needed. You will be involved all stages of planning, preparing, and delivering a range of broadcasts and streaming events. In-depth knowledge of encoder software with the technical ability to create and support professional live video productions and with the practical experience of all the components required to produce a broadcast.
Principle duties
  • Setting up and remote operation of encoders.
  • Generating RTMP and stream keys prior to an event.
  • Support for encoders in all studios.
  • Design, install and monitoring of network solutions.
  • Remote operation of encoders and equipment in operation out of DRPG premises.
  • Remote monitoring of all broadcasts, using the customers portal where possible. This includes but is not limited to: Audio sync, Overall quality of stream, Buffering issues, Polling responsiveness and timing.
  • Monitoring calls to the emergency stream support number.
  • Management of content delivery network solutions.
  • Management of testing services related to CDN’s.
  • Evaluate system potential by testing compatibility of new programs and solutions.
  • Provide answers to clients by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective steps.



This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other such duties as the management may, from time to time, reasonably require.
  • Broadcast knowledge and experience of Live streaming or experience in a similar production environment.
  • Experience of encoding hardware software, i.e., Wirecast, LiveStream Studio, OBS
  • Experience of working with and setting up and configuring CDN’s such as Vimeo, DaCast and working towards client requirements.
  • Understanding of digital interactivity including but not limited to Slido, Kahoot, drpg internal sites.


Skills / characteristics
  • Understanding of streaming media including live video streaming protocols such as RTSP, RTMP, WebRTC, HLS, etc
  • Working with analytics and registration requirements, attendee numbers, branding needs for events.
  • Knowledge of setting up and running online meeting software via platforms such as Teams, Teams Live Events, LifeSize and Zoom.
  • Knowledge of networking and resilience required to deliver professional and stable broadcasts such as CPU usage, frames rates, network capacity, LAN setup.
  • Understanding of video/audio encoding, bitrates and common video/audio codecs and formats.
  • Understanding of common media streaming terminology (latency, fps, kbps).

  • Current full UK driving licence

Further notes
The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office. There will be times when this role will require you to work from the company’s other offices. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
